WHAT IS EVAPORATIVE COOLING?

Evaporative coolers, also known as Swamp Coolers, send out a strong stream of chilled air by passing air through a set of internal filters that are saturated with cold water by a pump mechanism. The air they put out is cold but not adjustable in temperature, and slightly more humid than an air conditioner. For this reason they are less popular on the East Coast but are ideally suited to the arid Southern California climate.

WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?

Swamp Coolers are ideal for setting a cool breeze flowing throughout a large interior space or a partially enclosed tent -- especially if the space is too large to cool down entirely with air conditioning.
